Carolyn has been training recovered people to give back since the 1980's. She was the first known clinician to implement the use of recovered mentors, a program which she successfully launched while running a hospital program.
As the founder of Monte Nido, the first residential eating disorder treatment program, Carolyn trained mentors and coaches, who worked with clients while in treatment and after discharge.
With the field of eating disorder coaching rapidly growing, and a lack of rigorous, formal training programs for coaches entering the field, Carolyn realized the need and responded accordingly. Thus, the Carolyn Costin Institute was born.
Once again on the cutting edge of eating disorder treatment, Carolyn is excited to be pioneering this movement as she launches this unique training program.
The Institute offers training for mentors, certification for coaches AND specialty training for those who want to enhance their skills in certain areas.
